The St Ann’s School’s academic ethos focuses on encouraging the students to utilise their talents, and develop their intellectual and creative interests so that they remain committed for the rest of their professional and personal lives. The students need to understand their own culture and history, as well as their own geographical, scientific and spiritual theory and language. The school’s academic environment is constructed such that the students are able to develop their knowledge and interest in these areas in an international context and around the global world in which they are born and will live.
The ability of the students are tested by periodic tests and examinations. There are three main examinations (quarterly, half yearly and annual) and unit tests held during each academic year.
A minimum of 50% marks in all subjects is required for a pass. Promotion to the next class is given on the basis of overall performance of the student in all examinations.
Minimum attendance of 85% of the total number of working days is required for a child to get promotion. The decision of the principal with regard to promotion is final.
Progress report will be issued after each examination through PTM. Re-examination will not be conducted if a student remains absent for any examinations for any reason whatsoever. No student will be admitted to any examination with fee arrears.
The library has been designed to provide the students with a quiet and purposeful atmosphere for study and intellectually creative thought. Students are able to use the library throughout the year. It supports the educational aims of the school by making the library central and integral to the independent learning processes within the school. It provides a service which will enable students to become more responsible for their own learning. It enriches the student curricular experiences by providing appropriate resources.
The school’s mission is to develop exceptional students and prepare them to serve a meritocratic India as ethical, wise and just citizens. We believe that leadership skills can be taught and capacity can be developed. In preparing our students to enter a fast changing, complex world, we take every opportunity to use experiences inside and outside the classroom to explore the complicated business of gaining trust through authentic action, collaborating to bring about growth in social capital and influencing others.
The aim of the school is to develop democratic practices in education. The School Council comprises SPL, GSPL, House representatives, and sports captains. It is responsible for creating a constructive, dynamic, and positive environment and culture.
