Ethos

Welcome to the co-curricular part. It has been prepared to show students and parents what is offered as part of the curriculum at the St Ann’s School. The co-curriculum programme is a wide and critically important part of the education offered to each student at school. In the words of the principal that learning in and out of the classroom are in-fact mutually dependent upon the other.

The school encourages students to develop their genuine interests and talents by getting involved with a wide range of activities on offer. By participating in these activities students will be able to discover their interests, enjoy learning more about the activities and the skills required for these activities and, at the same time, they will make friends and have fun.

Social Service

The school has been actively involved in social service and has sought ways to enhance this involvement. It strives to provide a range of social service opportunities that will allow its students to expand their understanding of social issues and consider their role in finding solutions to community concerns.

No education is complete without students being made to feel for the underprivileged and marginalized, and The St Ann’s School has always sought to inculcate a sense of service among the students. The idea of giving one’s time, money, effort and comfort forms the basis of the school calendar. The students, many of who come from privileged backgrounds, learn that they belong to an aristocracy of service, of wealth, privilege and position.

Sports

Sport is on offer to all age groups at the St.Ann’s School. All age groups have physical education classes each day timetabled in to the curriculum. It plays a central role in supporting the ethos of the school and a first class education. The majority of students flourishes in school or house teams, while some progress to district level. There is an opportunity for all pupils to maximize their potential via an extensive co-curricular programme which is second-to-none. Teamwork is fostered, leaders are identified and developed and boys learn much about themselves and others; sport is a vehicle for personal development. In addition, the academic staff is enthusiastically committed to help in delivering the extensive sports programmes.
